My brother-in-law and I are always sharing music recommendations and we both love jazz. A few years ago, I created a print for him.

The print features a data visualization to show connections and collaborations between a bunch of musicians. I — somewhat randomly — picked 2 musicians to start from. On the UK side, I picked Shabaka Hutchins. And on the US side I started from Robert Glasper (we had recently seen him perform at the Blue Note in NYC). 

A few of the connections are bands, but most are individual musicians. For each musician an icon illustrates their primary instrument.

This was just a fun side-project that allowed me to think creatively about data visualization.
